Having over 53 years of institutional & health care experience, John S McManus Inc. understands what it takes to manage and complete a successful project. For three generations, our approach has remained the same: to work hand-in-hand with our clients’ commissioned architects and their design team. Our seasoned team has worked together through decades of projects – many or our superintendents have been with McManus for over 20 years. Our highly skilled workforce consists of union-trained superintendents, carpenters and laborers that work closely with our office staff, overseeing and executing projects on a daily basis, to ensure that each one is completed successfully, on or under budget and within the projected time frame.
Our Services
General Contractor
We undertake your building project with direction from your commissioned architect and their design team. We also work in cooperation with other builders, owners, and design professionals with the goal of delivering your project on time and under budget. We retain a higly-skilled workforce consisting of union-trained superintendents, carpenters, and laborers who work with us in overseeing and executing the tasks required to successfully complete your project.
Construction Management
We work proactively with you and your architect during the early, crucial phases of design. After the design stage is complete, John S. McManus Inc. fully assumes all builder responsibilities. Our involvement at your project’s beginning results in a build-ready, structurally sound design and potential cost-saving solutions prior to construction. By securing subcontractors and ordering materials sooner than most construction timelines typically allow, McManus potentially increases your cost savings.
Design-Build
John S. McManus Inc. provides all of your services as one source, from ideation and design to construction and completion. As the Master Builder, we lead and take full responsibility for all project design, engineering, and construction elements. Following Value Engineering principles, we can assess your project’s design requirements and incorporate all recommended cost-saving measures back into your design.

Doylestown Hospital

Ridley Township Marina
Ridley Township Marina Project is a new 5 million dollar 10,000 sq. ft. state of the art multifunctional building. Building consists of a 7000 sq. ft. restaurant and bar & approximately 3000 sq. ft. is dedicated to the Ridley Township Marina offices. Project includes stunning architectural folding glass wall that provides spectacular waterfront views for the patrons from the new 40 ft. granite topped bar. Building also entails a new commercial kitchen, several interior and exterior dining areas along with a look out tower that comes with a widow’s walk and New England style cupola.
Neumann Abessinio Health Sciences Center Addition
New 2 story addition to the current Rocco Abessinio Building added 17,000 sq. Ft of instruction and lab space to accommodate projected growth in the doctoral program in Physical Therapy as well as in undergraduate programs in Nursing and the Health Sciences. The project included construction of six physical therapy/athletic training labs to accommodate this growing program. A state-of-the-art nursing instruction auditorium that can accommodate 300 students and a two-story atrium with green space and a reflection area with beautiful gas fire place provides an inviting retreat for students to relax and unwind.
